BEST SEASONS FOR EVEREST THREE HIGH PASSES TREKKING:
The best time and seasons for Everest Three High Passes Trekking, or other adventures in Nepal Himalayas. Spring and autumn/fall seasons. The spring begins in March and ends in May, a lively time for pleasant walks and scenic views. Most days are fine and clear with enough sunshine hours till late afternoon from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. It can get overcast in the afternoon sometimes, with chances of light rains and snowfalls. Days are much longer with sunlight hours, but cold morning and late afternoon till nighttime. Depending upon altitude and overnight stops around the high Khumbu and Everest regions. Spring is the best time for nature lovers, when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendrons of various species.
The next best season is autumn/fall, where most days are bright, with sunny days for clear views. Autumn/fall starts from September to November, one of the high seasons in Nepal for trekking. Days are fine with crystal clear blue sky, but it gets dark soon due to limited sunshine hours. Morning and late afternoon until nighttime are cold, and chances of light snowfall.

EXPERIENCE RELIGION & CULTURES OF THE KHUMBU SHERPAS:
The higher Himalayan region of Eastern Nepal, around Solu and Khumbu, is inhabited by the Sherpa. Known as the highlanders of Everest and Eastern Himalayas, they are the pioneers as mountain guides. The Sherpa’s are interwoven with strong Buddhist religion and cultures, similar to the Tibetan predecessors.
The first part of the trek on Everest Three High Passes leads through several traditional villages adorned with Buddhist monuments. Includes monasteries, rows of prayer walls, and spinning wheels and Stupas known as Chortens. The Sherpa celebrates their own New Year called Gyalbo Losar falls in in winter times of February or early March. 2024 is the year of a Dragon, quite similar to the
Tibetan and Chinese New Year. The Sherpa also enjoys other religious festivals such as the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. Takes place at in end of April or May, as per the Tibetan Buddhism Lunar Calendar. Including the colorful Mani Rimdu Festival at Tengboche Monastery.

FOODS, ACCOMMODATION AND LODGES FACILTIES AROUND KHUMBU:
Trekkers on the first few days of walks from Lukla will be amazed at the standard of lodges. Providing the facilities in every village from budget, standard to luxury class hotels, resorts, lodges, and inns. Where one can have the options of rooms from attached or common bathrooms and toilets. Most standard lodges serve a comprehensive food menu from breakfast, oats porridge, and cereals to cornflakes with toast/chapattis and pancakes. Includes a choice of egg variation. Lunch and Dinner from Continental, Chinese, Indian, Nepali, and Tibetan main course with a choice of soups. The rooms in lodges and food are the best in the Khumbu areas, en route to Everest Base Camp. After Namche Bazaar, Tengboche towards Dingboche, Chukung, and Lobuche till Gorakshep the lodge accommodations with standard lodge facilities. Including food, but rooms with attached baths and toilets are not available. Due to the harsh weather conditions, the plumbing systems freeze, in the morning and nighttime.
The foods are served in a spacious dining room with a fireplace to keep the place warm and cozy. At Chukung, Dzongla, and Thagnak including Lungden the lodges with minimum facilities with a basic food menu to enjoy. These are temporary seasonal settlements, as well as the high altitude terrains. But enjoyable with local foods like Dal Bhat, Noodles fried or noodle soups, and fried potatoes, etc.

PHYSICAL FITNESS REQUIREMENT AND INSURANCE:
For this tough and adventurous trek Everest Three High Passes, participant’s members must be in good physical shape. As well as with sound health for the challenges of climbing on steep uphill’s and long downhills. Including the cold morning and night's freezing temperatures, as well as walking on snow and ice sometimes. The age should be a minimum of 16 to a maximum of 70 years old. For below under 18 must be accompanied by parents and guardians. All trekkers must have Travel and Medical Insurance in case of unfortunate accidents and illness. Sometimes, the trek may have to be re-routed to other safe destinations. In case of broken trails from avalanches, and rock falls including the bad and unfavorable weather conditions. The daily normal flight from Kathmandu to Lukla can be delayed or canceled sometimes due to bad weather. Where trekkers should be well aware of all the unfortunate situations, if arise. The company will make the best effort for the safety and conveyance of all clients. Some members of the group might get seriously ill, which requires immediate evacuation. Using the fastest transportation for the safety of the sick clients as well as using services of Helicopter, to bring the patient to the nearest hospital. If this condition happens, trekkers have to bear all extra expenses as well as for the accompanying staff. All extra expenditures should be claimed by your insurance company. DETAILED ITINEREARY:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,340 m and transfer to hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, received by Himalayan Heritage Trek staff and guide. For short transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city around exciting place at Thamel area or close by. After checking into your rooms with refreshment our guides will brief regarding Everest Three Passes trekking. Evening a welcome group dinner in a nice authentic Nepalese restaurant with culture show.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with optional sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Morning after breakfast, depart for cultural and historical tour around Nepal and best World Heritage Sites. Tour of old Durbar Square (Palace Courtyard) The famous ancient Swyambhunath Stupa, includes places of interest, rest of the day preparations for Everest Three High Passes Trekking.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,860 m and trek to Phakding 2,610 m-04 hrs.
As time for morning flight to Lukla, transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport and then board in a small aircraft. Fantastic views of Himalayan peaks with Everest, as the flight heads north east to land at Lukla, Tenzing & Hillary small airport. At Lukla having time for refreshing break, and follow the lead guide to start the first day walk to Phakding. The trail follows downhill along the glacial Dudh-Koshi River, walking with few short ups and down through lovely Sherpa villages. After a pleasant scenic walk, then reaching Phakding Village for overnight stop, in the comfort of a nice lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m-06 hrs.
Trek today leads to famous Sherpa Namche Bazaar. After a good breakfast, then start the morning walk with short down and ups and crossing exciting bridge. Then with short climb to Monjo village, then to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park (Sagarmatha for Everest in Nepali). From here short walk down to cross a bridge to reach the last Jorsalle village, before Namche Bazaar. Possible stop for lunch at Jorsalle nice lodge restaurants, afternoon walk on river bed within lovely forest. Lined with dense trees of rhododendrons, pines and firs, as climb leads to cross a high bridge. Then on winding uphill for few hours to reach Namche Bazaar, in the comfort of a good lodge. Facing views of Namche Bazaar with backdrops of Kongde range of peaks.

Day 05: Rest day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization with short hike.
Enjoy rest day in Namche Bazaar a perfect place with ideal height for acclimatization, before heading towards higher areas. The best short hiking around Namche Bazaar as follows: After breakfast hike up to the Park Headquarters a top ridge a place with interesting museum. Offers grand vista of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse with beautiful Mt. Ama Dablam, Khangtiaga, Tharmasarku. Including Kwangde Himal range of peaks, then visit the museum for information of the Sherpa cultures and history. As well as flora/fauna and of the mountaineering history around Khumbu and Everest. The other hike is climb above Namche Bazaar to Syangboche, and then walk up to Everest View Hotel, the first luxury hotels around Khumbu and Everest region. Listed in the Guinness Book of World Record, as world’s highest hotels at 3,962 m/ 13,000 feet. Offers views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse with Ama Dablam while you enjoy refreshing hot drinks. Rest of the day explore Namche Bazaar famous for weekly Saturday Market, hence it is called as Namche Bazaar

Day 06: Trek to Tengboche Monastery 3,867 m-05 hrs.
Morning walk on gradual winding trail with views of Everest and Ama Dablam to entering cool alpine forest. After lunch at Phunki Tenga, a few hour climbs to scenic Tengboche Monastery for overnight stop. A beautiful location, surrounded by green forest with panorama of Mt. Everest. Have time to visit the interesting monastery, a popular spot where every year in the month of October and November great colorful festival 'Mani Rimdu is held. After the tour of the monastery along with glorious views of snow-apped peaks either stay overnight in Tengboche. Where some trekkers head beyond to with downhill to Deboche for overnight halt. A nice serene area amidst forest and views of Ama Dablam and Everest.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,410 m-05 hrs.
From this wonderful spot around Tengboche, morning walk downhill through green vegetation to a bridge. After crossing a steel bridge an uphill walk to Pangboche village. From here the tree lines drops for smaller juniper bushes. As walk leads to Somare a small settlement for lunch stop with grand views of Ama Dablam. Afternoon walk leads towards Imjatse valley to reach Dingboche, with short down and climbing to enter scenic Imjatse Valley. Where Dingboche a lovely settlement located beneath Ama Dablam North Face. Transfer to a nice lodge and marvel the surrounding views of snow peaks with Island Peak towards east direction.

Day 08: At Dingboche rest day for acclimatization and short hike.
Enjoy a day in Dingboche for another acclimatization, Dingboche offers a few good hiking spots, for grand mountain panorama. Best is climb up to  Nagkartshang high ridge at 5,510m/18,077 feet high. Adding another 700 m up from Dingboche, few hours climb above from the lodge to reach on top. Rewards panorama of towering peaks that surrounds the Imjatse Valley with views of Mt. Makalu and Island Peak. Rest of the day rest and enjoy the surrounding beautiful scenery of the zagged snow peaks.

Day 09: Trek to Chukung 4, 740 m-04 hrs.
From Dingboche a short day hike to Chukung the last eastern settlement around Khumbu and Imjatse valley. A pleasant walk on a wide valley with few short ups to reach Chukung for lunch and overnight. Afternoon enjoy rest facing tremendous views of Island Peak, Lhotse with Mt. Makalu.

Day 10: Trek to Lobuche 4,960 m via Khoma-La Pass 5,535 m-08 hrs.
Starting the morning as early as possible having breakfast, and carry packed lunch for the long day. Towards our first pass of the adventures, the trail follows above Imjatse Valley. Then enter a gully in between the rocky walls of Nuptse peak and Nakarjung ridge. The walk follows on a small path with steep climb to reach the top of Khoma-La, the highest pass of the journey. Located between Pokalde, Nuptse and Mehara or Khongma peaks, from the top down to cross Khumbu Glacier. After walking across the glacier climb to a rocky moraine and down to Lobuche. Situated on the corner of a wide grassy field with number of good lodges for overnight stops.

Day 11: Trek to Everest base camp 5,364 m via Gorakshep 5,180 mand back to Gorakshep.
Another early morning hike to Everest base camp, after breakfast walk on a gradual path. Then with short climb to rocky areas reaching above Khumbu Glacier, as walk heads down to Gorakshep. A small settlement with few lodges, beneath the towering Mt. Pumori, and Kalapathar rocky hill. After a short rest continue walk heading east, on a gradual winding path. After few hours of good walk, then reaching Everest Base Camp on the foot of Mount Everest Enjoy the dramatic scenery similar to arctic landscapes, covered in moraine of rocks, snow, ice and glaciers. During mountaineering seasons in April and May, the base camp is crowded with tents of wide-world mountaineering expeditions. From Everest base camp return walk to Gorakshep for overnight halt in the comfort of a nice and simple lodge.

Day 12: Climb Kalapathar 5,643 m/18,514 feet, trek to Dzongla 4, 750 m-05 hrs. 
Start early morning before breakfast, for optional hike and climb to the top of Kalapathar. A famous and popular viewpoint and the highest point of the Adventures, a steep climb for few hours. From the top enjoy the breathtaking views of giant snow peaks with close look of Mt. Everest. After a refreshing morning, down to Gorakshep for breakfast. Leaving the lodge on the same route to Lobuche, and then our route diverts from the main tail to Dzongla. A small settlement with few good simple lodge, reaching for late lunch and overnight stop. Enjoy the afternoon with good rest for the next morning climb to cross Cho-La Pass. From Dzongla facing close views of Cholatse and Taboche peaks.

Day 13: Cross Cho-La pass 5,420 m, descend to Thagnak 4,760 m-08 hrs.
Another early morning walk starts after breakfast, the walks follows on a winding path for short while. On reaching the base of Cho-La pass, climb begins heading with care on slipper icy areas. After hours of steep climbing then reach on top of Cho-La Pass, marked with Buddhist prayer flags and rock cairns. After a stopping for rest enjoy the grand close views of Cholatse, Lobuche East/West peaks with Nirekha peak. From the top a long descend to reach the western side of the pass at Thagnak. A small settlement with nice simple lodge accommodation, enjoy the comfort of the lodge with good meals. After a long day climbing up to the second pass of the adventures at scenic Gokyo Valley.

Day 14: Trek to Gokyo Third Lakes 4,800 m-04 hrs.
After the tough day crossing Cho-La, today a short and easy walk from Thagnak to Gokyo. Morning walk follows to Na, a small yak herder’s camp, and then reaching the first and second lakes. Soon the walk completes, as you arrive the third, main lakes of Gokyo Valley. The lodge are located above the lake, enjoy the comfort of a good lodge for lunch and overnight stops. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the views of surrounding peaks with Mt. Cho-Oyu in the North direction.

Day 15: At Gokyo rest day and hike to Gokyo-Ri at 5,357 m high.
Enjoy a free day around this scenic and beautiful location at Gokyo, morning options for climb to Gokyo-Ri viewpoint. An early and start before breakfast walk across the third lake. Then with steep climb of few hours to reach the top of Gokyo-Ri. Facing panorama of the world’s four highest peaks, with Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho-Oyu. Includes panorama of Gokyo Valley and the glacial Lakes with Ngozumpa the longest glaciers around the Himalayas. After a refreshing morning, downhill to the lodge for breakfast and lunch, enjoy, rest of the day relaxing. Before an early morning start to cross the last pass of the adventure.

Day 16: Cross Renjo-La 5,360 m, descend to Lungden 4,340m-07 hrs.
Rising early for the adventure to cross the Renjo-La, start the morning as early as Possible. Before the cold breeze catching you on top of the pass, the walk follows across the third lake. Reaching at the base of Renjo-La Pass, after a short rest, start the climb of few hours with steep up. Then reach Renjo-La the last and final Pass of the adventure. Rewards you with glorious views of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu with series of peaks that surrounds. From the pass on completing the main highlights walk downhill to Lungden. A small isolated place with few good simple lodges for overnight stop.

Day 17: Trek to Thame 3,880 m-06 hrs.
From Lungden, start the morning with pleasant and scenic walk downhill of few small ups to reach Thame. The walk leads close to the midway of Thame and the borders of Tibet and Nepal. The downhill continues past farm and yak herder’s settlement to Marlung village. After a short break for possible lunch stops, a short climb to cross the river and then reaching Thame village. Located western end of Khumbu, with views of Kwangde range of peaks. From Thame is on route to Rolwaling Valley also, crossing high Tashi Labtsa-La Pass. At Thame check into a nice lodge, afternoon tour of an old monastery. Located atop a high windblown hill, the monastery of more than 500 years old.

Day 18: Trek to Monjo 2,880 m via Namche Bazaar- 05 hrs.
Morning from Thame, a short walk down to a bridge with short climb, then on winding trail past Thamo village. From here back within green tree and lush vegetation. Walk leads to Namche Bazaar for late lunch, afternoon enjoy downhill to reach Dudh Koshi River valley. As walk continues through Jorsalle and cross a bridge, with short steep climb to the Sagarmatha National Park post. From here to Monjo for overnight halt before Lukla.

Day 19: Trek to Lukla and transfer to a lodge-04 hrs.
Last day trek of the adventure, enjoy the pleasant walks to Phakding for short rest. The walk continues on pleasant winding path for few hours with last hour climb to Lukla. Reaching Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, with ample time to explore the town of Lukla. As well as to enjoy the last dinner celebration with fellow members and trekking staff.

Day 20: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Morning transfer to Lukla’s Tenzing & Hillary airport, for smooth short flight to Kathmandu. Reaching back in the hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, after a great adventure and wonderful experience on Everest Three High Passes Trekking. Rest of the day at leisure for individual activities and shopping souvenirs or join in for short tour around places of great interest.

Day 21: In Kathmandu free day, for individual activities with options for tours.
A free day in Kathmandu to enjoy relaxing moments and for individual activities and shopping spree. Where one can shop souvenirs of Nepal from handicrafts to jewelers etc. Interested people can opt for another exciting tour of Patan and Bhaktapur cities on request.

Day 22: International departure for homeward bound.
Last day in Kathmandu and Nepal, after an overwhelming adventure and experience around the high hills and valleys of Khumbu and Everest. As time for your international flight, transfer to the airport. Then bid farewell to Nepal, guide and staff; as you enter the air terminal for homeward bound or to next port of call. Please remember: The spare day in Kathmandu, in case of flight delay due to bad weather conditions. Might leads to cancellation sometimes, while the company will make all the best effort to manage the trip successful. But sometimes circumstance gets beyond the HH Treks command. The company will try its best making your holiday and enjoyable. In case of long flight delay and cancellation, the company will arrange a helicopter. Which is at extra cost on top of flight ticket cost, for this reason one needs to bear with us. The extra expenses should be claimed from your Travel Insurance back home. If the flight lands at Manthali airport in Ramechap, our staff transfers you to a vehicle. 01: How tough and difficult is Everest Three High Passes Trek?
A moderate to adventurous with steep ups, includes long downhills. Trekkers must be aware that Nepal Himalayan landscapes are all ups and downhills. The only flat land is in around southern Nepal at Terai. The best is to walk slow with steady pass to overcome the tough and difficult uphill climb. Most of the trail are straight forward without much difficulties, as long you walk at slow pace. The only tough about the treks is gain in elevation, especially crossing the high passes. Walking slowly and having drinks with rest, will be good precaution against altitude sickness.Rest of the route is straightforward on daily walks to each overnights stops.

03: Are there facilities for electricity, internets and WI-FI?
All lodges on overnight stops, have electricity facilities either run by Hydro or solar power. Trekkers can charge their electronic items on paying extra for charging each gadgets. Some lodges offer free Wi-Fi and Internet services while few places might charge extra. But the connection in some places can be disturbing and takes time to run the service either in long distance call or using the internets.

All the regions of Khumbu and Everest region, is within the Sagarmatha National Park. Sagarmatha is a name for Everest in Nepal, the native Sherpa calls as Chomolungma of Tibetan origin language. Trekker needs to obtain the Park entrance ticket. The checking and registration for National Park is done at Monjo and Namche Bazaar.

06: What happens if someone is sick on trek?
Normally, all trekkers are aware of traveling around Asian and developing countries. The only major problem that trekkers have to take care is from getting altitude sickness or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) However, some trekkers can get sick like diarrhea and from high altitude walks for normal symptoms rest for few days till the victims recover and is able to continue walk. But on severe and serious situation, the only way of fast and immediate emergency rescue is using the helicopter service. Fastest evacuation to reach nearest hospital and medical care. On this emergency case where victims have to borne all the expenses to be claimed from your health and medical insurance.
