guide and porters, if the client are satisfied with the service. Can tip the staff, guide and porters including drivers at the end of a trip. The amount of tipping

Depends entirely on the areas of trekking, if taking a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. As well to other mountain airports, allows only 20 kgs each passengers including the handbags or day packs. But on overland journey can carry at least more than 20-25 kgs. The porters carry a limited amount of weight on trekking from 15 to 25 kgs, depending upon the areas of trekking.

Visitors to Nepal who have not obtained from their home countries at Nepali Embassies or Consulates. Can obtain on arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, needs to carry necessary document and legal passport. Including PP size photos and cash to pay for the visa.

Trekkers with unnecessary belonging and items not required for the trek can store at the hotel or with Himalaya Heritage. Before the trek departures make sure of the things that you have stored. Including some valuable can be kept in the hotel safe locker or with HH.

Depends on the areas of trekking using porters, as well as Yak or Zhopkyo (cross breed oxen, of yak and normal cow). As well as using mules to carry the client
baggage or luggage from one overnight stops to another. Until the trek is completed at designated destination before flying or driving back to Kathmandu.

The company against our policy and rules there will be no refund, if some trekkers breaks the journey halfway. As well in between the trekking due to health,
medical or domestic problems. No refund is entertained, should claim from one’s travel or medical Insurance companies that you have purchased. The company will only provide a backup letter of the situation to support in claiming the insurance.

All trekking staff, guides and porters are well insured for against illness, accidents, or unfortunate incidents, especially on treks and climbing peaks.

All guides of HH are well trained in basic medical and First Aid, have good knowledge to care simple wounds. As well as mild sickness and AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness), guide carries comprehensive medical kit. On higher altitude trekking the company supplies Gamow or Pressure Bags and portable oxygen cylinder as safety measures when needed. But for sever accidents and critical conditions, will ask for help and support to evacuate the victims immediately.

The fastest means of transportation around remote corners of Himalayas is using a Helicopter Service. To bring the patient to the nearest and best hospitals either in Pokhara or Kathmandu.

Hot showers are available in every lodges along the trekking routes and overnight stops. Especially in bigger villages lodges, some smaller areas provide  bucket full of hot water for bathing. Need to pay extra charge for using hot water or showers, the price differs as you head higher destinations.

Only in few places around larger villages and settlements depending upon the trekking areas. It is accepted in few large shops, stores, restaurants and lodges like in Everest, Annapurna and Langtang region. Where trekking destinations are more popular. But on paying in foreign currencies the rate differs, can be slightly lower than the bank rates.

Credit Cards payment is not applicable on trekking around remote mountainous regions villages. All incidental payment should be made in Nepali currencies the company suggests that all trekkers carry cash money. Especially, of smaller bills from 10-20-50 to hundreds bigger amount of NRS 500 and 1000.

At present from last few decades nearly all remote corners of Nepal Himalayan villages and settlements have tele-communications. But can be quite disturbing and slow internet services, due to high terrains, deep gorges and valleys. As well with bad weather sometimes, but mostly one can have the pleasure of internet and telephone services. In every lodges around the big villages and settlements, mostly on popular trekking routes. For using the internet or Wi-Fi
one needs to pay extra, as per hour duration. For mobile or cell-phone best to use local standard SIM card, can be purchased in Kathmandu.

Yes, most lodges do have facilities of electricity, either run by small private community hydro or solar power. For charging electronic gadgets and items, one needs to pay for each items charged per hour.

Depends upon the regions of trekking chosen, around main popular routes like Annapurna, Everest and Langtang areas. Trekkers can find various standard of
lodge accommodations, from budget, standard to luxury. Most lodges have few rooms with attached toilets and bathrooms. But one can have the options of rooms with attached or using common bathe and toilets. All lodges have nice clean rooms and with large cozy dining with a pot- bellied iron stoves to keep the room warm.

Not at all it is better to have vegetarian food than meat course, on the trek it is not hygienic. The meat are quite stale, depending upon the region of trekking. Most villages and lodges does not have meat product in their food menu, fresh meats are scarce around remote areas. It is healthy to have fresh vegetables meals as per the seasonal wise especially going higher regions.

There are two types of trekking in Nepal, the most favored is Tea House or Lodge Trekking. Next is tented camping especially, trekking around remote isolated regions of the Himalayas, away from villages and human settlements. Tea House or Lodge trekking is popular around the main trekking areas of Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, and Manaslu regions. The other remote areas like Tsum Valley, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga Lodge exist, but with simple accommodation and a limited food menu.

Around popular trekking destinations trekkers will be amazed at the standard of lodges. From budget, and standard to luxury class hotels, resorts, lodges, and inns. Where one can have rooms with options for common bathrooms and toilets. Most standard lodges serve a comprehensive food menu from breakfast, oats porridge, and cereals to cornflakes with toast/chapattis and pancakes. Includes a choice of egg variation. 

Lunch and Dinner from Continental, Chinese, Indian, Nepali, and Tibetan main course with a choice of soups. The rooms in lodges and food are the best around the main trekking regions. Includes facilities of electricity for charging electronic items as well one can buy hot showers.

The company will issue a comprehensive medical kit and First Aid. All guides are trained in First Aid and basic medical courses every year by reputed medical instructors and doctors. On high altitude and longer trekking, the guide also carries a Gamow or Pressure Bag. As well as portable oxygen cylinders, unfortunate accidents, and illness, the guide will take care. If this unfortunate condition happens, trekkers have to bear all extra expenses as well as for the accompanying staff.

As per the seasons for the proposed trek, the company will inform you and send you the list of trekking gear. Besides your valuables and belongings, if it’s too
much to carry from home as per airline baggage weight allowance. Trekkers can buy or rent in Kathmandu before the trek departures, necessary to bring your valid travel documents. Including insurance papers and gathering much of the information required for the trek and in Kathmandu.

Yes, certainly one can request a Tailor-Made or Customized Itinerary as per one need. As per your holiday duration and physical condition, we do organize customized treks and tours for private groups. Most customized or tailored Made Itineraries we have organized in the past for school/college groups, families, and friends. Including corporate people and executives. If not joining with other group members on fixed departures for certain treks, one can always request for customized trip itinerary.

At least 6 months ahead or a minimum of a month before the fixed trip departure dates. In some cases and situations, we allow booking a week in advance. To confirm your booking we need a 25 to 30% advance payment from the total trip cost. Rest is to be paid on arrival in Kathmandu before the trip departures.

The company will charge some amounts depending upon the trip chosen, and the conditions as per Himalaya Heritage policy and rules. If booked after paying the advance trip money:
3 months notification the 20 % will be deducted from the advance payment. 1 or 2 months notification 25 to 30 % will be deducted from the  advance .payment. Last-hour cancellation or no-show on trip departures, no refund is entertained. As for postponing due to ill health, domestic or office problems if paid the advance fee. Himalaya Heritage will keep the money if sent, it will be added on the trip cost when clients can join for the proposed trip.

On booking for respective treks and trips, one needs to send a minimum of 25% payment as an advance fee. The actual total trip cost, be sent to the Himalaya
Heritage Bank account. The rest of the remaining balance is to be paid on arrival in Kathmandu. That is before the trek or any other trip departures.

Himalaya Heritage is a Government Registrated Company, established more than decades ago. Trekking agencies in Nepal need Tourism and Government Registration authorization to run the treks or tours. To know you can request the Government Registration Certificate or other legal documents.
Himalayan Heritage will send you copies of the registration and related documents.

For trekking in Nepal, non-applicable unless you are traveling to other tropical areas in Asia. Like Thailand, Malaysia or Vietnam, in Nepal small cases of malaria exists only around the low land of Terai belt. The higher trekking areas are free from malaria, so it is safe to trek in Nepal.

It depends upon the areas of trekking and how far is from the nearest hospital and medical post. For normal sickness of slight headache or diarrhea, needs the
patient rest for few days in the same spot. Where your family member or close friends needs to be with you, as well the Himalayan Heritage will employ a staff to support the sick clients. If the condition is serious needs immediate evacuation by fastest means of transportation. The swiftest way is taking the Helicopter Serviceto bring the patient at near big town, cities good hospital or in Kathmandu.

In this condition all expenses should be borne by the clients and needs to be claimed from one’s medical Insurance. The company and medical doctor will issue
a supportive letter to claim the expenses to your Insurance Company.

Trekkers can get the improved internet access around Khumbu and Everest region, using the Everest Link Card. Facilities for smaller laundry available in large villages like Namche Bazaar and other popular trekking settlements. But on trek needs an extra day to complete the laundries, as for simple washing to get refreshed. In every lodges trekker can get a bowl of warm water for washing, but for full body bathing and showers. Needs to pay extra for hot water for taking showers or from big bucket full of hot water for washing hair or the body.

Certainly visitors in Nepal, especially around big cities and towns as well as in Kathmandu. Trekkers can purchase any types of needful gear and items for the
treks. From cheaper to high standard brands from toiletries, snacks and, etc. Trekkers will be surprised to observe and to buy all types of high class products in
Kathmandu, Pokhara. As well in some mountain villages during the treks.

In Nepal Himalayas there are various many exciting challenging adventure destinations, the trek involves crossing high passes. Like Everest Three High Passes crossing over Khongma, Cho-La, Renjo-La of above 5,400 meters passes. The other around Khumbu region is trekking around hidden valleys of Hinku and Hongu Valleys. The Luxury lodge exists only in few popular trekking areas like Everest and Annapurna regions. The Luxury lodge compared to normal Tea House/Lodge are quite expenses. From above US$ 200 to US$ 300 per rooms for one night including set lunch, dinner or la carte. However, breakfast is included on Bed and Breakfast basis like in most hotels in Nepal larger cities.

The difference between camping and teahouse or lodge trekking, depends upon the areas. From mainstream trail to off the-beaten tracks around remote hidden corners of the Himalayas.

The company booked with will carry two men tents, kitchen and dining tents as per group size. Including toilet tents, with all foods and fuels for cooking during the whole treks.
In Tea House, sleeping in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge accommodation having meals in a large warm dining rooms. Common Toilets and bathrooms where extra fee is charged for hot showers and using the electric power chagrining electronic.items. At present around main trekking areas, travelers can find various standard of accommodation and foods. From simple budget, moderate standard to luxury lodges or resorts. In Tea-House trekking requires few trekking staff and porters like guide and porters to carry the member’s baggage.
