BEST SEASONS FOR LANGTANG VALLEY AND GOSAINKUNDA TREKKING:
For this adventurous trekking around Langtang Valley & Gosainkunda. The best seasons are spring and autumn/fall, the most favorable times for all adventures around the Himalayas. The spring begins in March and ends in May, a lively time for pleasant walks and scenic views. Most days are fine and clear with enough sunshine hours till late afternoon from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. It can get overcast in the afternoon sometimes, with chances of light rains and snowfalls. Days are much longer with sunlight hours, but cold morning and late afternoon till nighttime. Depending upon altitude and overnight stops around the higher regions. Spring is the best time for nature lovers, when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendrons of various species.
The next best season is autumn/fall, where most days are bright, with sunny days for clear views. Autumn/fall starts from September to November, one of the high seasons in Nepal for trekking. Days are fine with crystal clear blue sky, but it gets dark soon due to limited sunshine hours. Morning and late afternoon until nighttime are cold, with chances of light snowfall.
EXPERIENCE RELIGION & CULTURES:
The higher Himalayan region of Nepal, around Rasuwa to Sindupalanchok district of Helambu areas. Populated by the mountain tribes the Tamang and Hyalmo of Helambu people, Tamang are one of the largest ethnic mountain tribes of Nepal. The Tamang are the main mountain tribes of Central and Langtang Himal of Rasuwa district. The Hyalmo of Helambu are minor hill tribes, both Tamang and Hyalmo interwoven to Buddhism religion. Trekkers can observe the Buddhist heritage culture, around Langtang and Helambu areas en route to. Kutumsang and Gul Bhanjyang on return trek.
FOODS, ACCOMMODATION AND LODGES FACILTIES:
Trekkers on the first few days of walks from Syabrubesi. The route leads to sheer mountain wilderness, with few small villages and settlements. The local village provides simple lodge with short list of food menu, most common is Nepali Dhal Bhat and noodles or home-made breads. The foods from Nepali Dhal Bhat (boiled rice, with seasonal vegetables and Dal a lentil of varieties of smaller beans). Tibetan bread, pancakes, chapatti, momos stuffed meats, or vegetable dumplings include noodles fried or with soup. Serves good breakfast from oats porridge, corn flakes with milk, breads and eggs followed by tea or coffee. Lunch is simple noodles fried with vegetables or eggs, or fried rice followed by hot refreshment. Afternoon tea with snacks and lavish dinner from Nepali, Indian, Chinese or Continental dishes. But at Langtang Valley in Kyanjin Gompa, trekkers will be surprised by the standard of lodges, offers comprehensive food menu. From Continental, Chinese, Indian, Tibetan/Sherpa, and Nepali foods and some bakery items. After Kyanjin Gompa till Gosainkunda and beyond to Kutumsang, the lodge accommodation and food are simple. But hygienic and enjoyable after a long days of trekking, at Chisapani near the end of walks. Provides good rooms and excellent food menu before reaching back at Kathmandu.
PHYSICAL FITNESS REQUIREMENT AND INSURANCE:
For this adventurous trekking, all trekkers must be in good physical shape. As well as in sound health, for the challenges, of climbing on a steep uphill and long downhill. Including the cold morning and night freezing temperatures as well as walking on snow and ice sometimes. The age should be a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 70 years old. For below 18 years, should be accompanied by parents or guardians. All trekkers must have Travel and Medical Insurance in case of unfortunate accidents and illness.
Sometimes, the trek may have to be re-routed to other safe destinations. In case of broken trails from the avalanches and rock falls, including the bad and unfavorable weather conditions. The scheduled flights from Lukla to Kathmandu can be delayed or canceled sometimes due to bad weather. Where trekkers should be well aware of all the unfortunate situations that can happen. The company will make the best effort for the safety and conveyance of all clients. Some members in the group might get sick, where immediate evacuation is required. Using, the fastest means of transportation, like services of the Helicopter, for bringing the patient to the nearest hospital. The first part of the adventure takes you to scenic Langtang Valley at Kyanjin Gompa. It is on the main popular routes to Langtang Valley, one of the famous adventure destinations in the Himalayas. Due to its accessibility from the road head, the route is pleasant, and elevation gains at a gradual pace, making the walk more enjoyable and altitude-friendly amidst dramatic scenery with impressive local cultures. Langtang Valley and Gosainkunda Trekking is a moderate adventure, with ample time to explore the beautiful scenic areas. Climb to the high viewpoints of Kyanjin and Tserko-Ri for acclimatization hikes on rest days at Kyanjin Gompa. Offer breathtaking views of the Central Himalayas with Langtang Himal range of peaks as far as Jugal Himal. Include the grand vista of Mt. the adventure continues toward our next high destination. The trail follows the same route and then diverts towards higher ridges to reach Gosainkunda, with a glacial lake. Gosainkunda is revered, as the holiest pilgrimage site, around the Himalayan ranges for the Hindu followers. The walk from Langtang Valley leads through a lovely forest lined with tall rhododendrons, pines, and oak trees. As the climb continues heading high on top of Laurabinaya ridges, facing tremendous views of Langtang, and Ganesh Himal. As far as Manaslu and Annapurna Himalayan range towards the far west horizon, and then enter the holy site of Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda, where the annual religious fair is held in August during the auspicious time of the full moon. Thousands of Hindu devotees and pilgrims visit defying the high altitude and wet monsoon heavy rains to Gosainkunda. The pilgrims pay homage to Lord Shiva the creator of all the lakes around Gosainkunda areas. Where pilgrims take a bath and dip in the holy icy lakes, Hindu belief is that it relinquishes the sins of hundreds of lifetimes, Gosainkunda is situated in a serene wilderness.
A mystical, and holy spot surrounded by high rocky ridges and snow peaks, with a serene sacred lake. From Gosainkunda on the return journey heading southeast with a climb on the highest point of the adventure. Then with steep ups to cross over Gosainkunda-La or East Laurabinaya Pass, offer grand views of the surrounding mountains. After crossing the pass, on a steep downhill and back into the dense forest of juniper, rhododendrons, and pine trees. The walk follows to Ghopte Odar a small settlement to reach around Helambu areas at Kutumsang. It is a lovely farm village, from here head south, walking on the high ridge to Chisapani. This scenic spot, is one of the best viewpoints for sunrise and sunset views, with an array of Himalayan peaks from scenic Chisapani. From Chisapani slowly the adventurous walks come to the end reaching Sundarijal farm town. Situated around the eastern valley rim of Kathmandu, from here a short drive brings you to Kathmandu.
